MATUR OG DRYKKUR is located in an old Salt Fish factory by the harbor across the bay from the Harpa. It is housed in a building that was built and used to salt fish until the late 1960's. The surrounding area is filled with cute huts that were once used in the fishing industry. The location and food are superb. The restaurant is quaint and cozy. Once there you will enjoy a six course meal consisting of traditional Icelandic food with a twist. What is the twist? Trained chefs bring the experience alive with creating elegance out of food that in days past were an everyday staple for the Icelandic people. If you want an Icelandic experience this is the place.
